In winter here no heart could mourn for summer or for spring. No blemish or sickness or deformity could be seen in anything that grew upon the earth. On the land of Lórien, there was no stain.
  • David Wenham: The horse master told me that he'd bought the horse for $200. Sort of goes with the whole Faramir character, really. "Oh Faramir, give him the cheapest horse. Nobody loves him." Probably a gift from Denethor.

Miranda: Such a hard thing to get across, that she just suddenly meets someone else and…and then it’s all okay. But I like the hand-holding, that’s from the book. That always struck me as really simple.
David: That’s the other strange thing about that, is the fact that, if Faramir is such a noble man then surely he’d going back out there again, instead of trying to crack onto the pretty girl who’s in the ward next to him. My enduring memory of that day is the fact that…being on a film whereby the director could call for as many takes as he did, and Peter just..he..we went for a heap of takes.

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.
