INTERVIEWER: Are you getting a little homesick?
ELIJAH: Yeah, well I am. It’s very surreal, it’s like watching my family carry on but I also find it incredibly heartwarming and endearing too - [spotting Dominic] Oh shit! Hang on, speaking of family! [x]

BILLY: One of the amazing things about Elijah is that he can sleep anywhere, at any time. I mean I’ve seen him do it and if they don’t go back to him for fifteen minutes he’ll be sitting there like that [pretending to sleep] like for fifteen minutes and then someone will go ‘Elijah!’ ‘Yeah, scene, right!’ and he goes! It’s an incredible thing that he’s got. I mean he must have been so tired during that shoot because y’know there were times when we had time off, Elijah had pretty much no time off - ever.
DOMINIC: I’ve seen him fall down three sets of staircases and then just get up and walk off. That is an incredible gift man, he’s like y’know, Chaplin.
SEAN: I sort of appointed myself as his kind of minder. Y’know I wanted to look after him and make sure he was okay.
ELIJAH: Sean was very much Sam for me, always looking after me, being there for me.
SEAN: He kept locking his keys in his apartment and he’d leave and couldn’t get back in and I’d be like ‘Don’t worry I’ll take care of it’. I would arrange to have a locksmith brought out there and get his keys so he could continue going about, having whatever fun he was having or talking to who he was talking to and forty-five minutes later I would bring him his keys. I saw the need for life to imitate art. Sam needed to look after Frodo as his primary identity, as the fellowship began to coalesce that was the job I carved out for myself.
